It’s finally here. Senior year has finally arrived and I could not be more excited. There is so many things already going on and even though it’s all very tiring and time-consuming I believe it will only make the memories of this year better. We haven’t done much yet, but as an ASB member I know our class has big things planned for this year. My first rally as a senior was definitely one for the books. I don’t think we have ever been so loud and pumped up; just hearing everyone yell at the top of their lungs gave me the goosebumps. As one of the emcees it was amazing to be able to see everyone get loud and see the freshmen’s faces light up with excitement from this new experience. The year so far as been going good, and it will only get better. I have one more year, one more year to make memories with the friends I grew up with and one more year at Lindsay High. After all the long hours and dedication I put into my work last year, I am where I am supposed to be in order to accomplish my goal of graduating in top 10. I am sure that I am on my way to success and I can already see that this year will be one I will never forget.
There is so much going on this year already. Those who told me that senior year is easy told one of the biggest lies ever. Only two months into school and I already feel so much pressure. My AP classes are the challenge that they are supposed to be; however, I did not imagine physics to be so difficult. That is not the end of it though. My most challenging classes are not the ones involving a foreign language or science or even essays; they are yearbook and leadership. I took on the challenge of being in charge of the yearbook as I was honored with the position of editor-in-chief. As a four year ASB member I believe it is my responsibility to plan and organize school events that everyone will enjoy. I know getting a complete yearbook done and planning endless activities won’t be easy, but with the help of my classmates I know we can make it happen. Even though I am going to have to continue to work hard in order to keep my grades up, I want to make sure that the spirit at LHS is better than it’s ever been and that I capture every moment so we can all look back at this year and remember it as the best.
There is so much to look forward to and much more to plan for before I graduate and pursue my dream of becoming a photographer. There’s homecoming, football games, bell week, rallies, club trips, winter ball, prom, grad nite, and of course graduation. Girls have waited three years to get nominated for homecoming. We’ve waited months for friday night lights to come back. It’s been too long since the bell left it’s home. Seniors are beyond excited to finally sit in the best spot in the gym for rallies. Everyone is ready to get back and have fun doing what they love to do in clubs. Students are ready to dance the night away at this year's dances. Best of all, we are ready to spend a day off at the happiest place on earth and finally have our hard work pay off as we receive or diplomas. I’m ready for it all, and I cannot wait for it to all get started.
Everything going on this year is going to be my last; my last homecoming, my last bell week, my last winter ball, my last prom, my last chance to prove myself. I have spent the last three years complaining about getting high school over with and my days at Lindsay High School are quickly coming to an end, but it is not over yet. There is one year left and I am determined to make the best of it. Senior year is here, and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for me.
